In Spring 2017, we released a survey to gather data about affordability concern at GW. With nearly 2,000 responses. the report confirmed that GW is most expensive by far than most market basket institutions.
In Spring 2018, we released a survey to learn more about your experience with academic advising. With over three hundred responses, the Academic Advising report confirms that there are significant discrepancies in the quality of advising provided from school to school.
In partnership with administrators, offices, and student organizations, we have taken many steps in promoting sustainability, advocating for academic affordability, expanding mental health resources, as well as improving accessibility and representation. Each January, we release a mid-year report outlining our advocacy.
In Fall 2018, we released a survey to learn more about your experiences with clickers and how we can change the system for the better. With over 800 responses, it is clear that clickers are an unnecessary and redundant cost for students. Academic success should not have a price tag, and the university must take steps to ensure that all students have equal access to affordable materials
In the 2018-2019 academic year, the Food Experience Task Force was formed to provide a platform for collaborative research and evaluation on the food experience at GW. The following report on the state of dining at GW includes recommendations that are informed by survey data, the lived experiences of GW students, and the diverse expertise of our group.
This report outlines over 30 initiatives that SA leaders spearheaded over the past year in partnership with student organizations, administrators, and faculty. We have made significant strides in academic accessibility, affordability, food insecurity, and community building, and while there is more work to do, we are confident that the progress this year will be a stepping stone in making the student experience more equitable for students of all backgrounds.
