We, as students of the George Washington University, believe that the University does not provide enough resources for the study of foreign language. The recent move of the University Language Center into a small, cramped office in Phillips 412 has rendered several language books and resources unusable. This action, along with competitive class spots in most language courses and a large, international student body requesting more resources to learn English, clearly demonstrates that foreign language has taken a lesser priority at GWU. New “Language Studios,” private rooms where students can speak aloud in their foreign language, will provide GW students with a space to address this problem and ensure their success.
