Statement on Insensitive Comments Toward Students in the Jewish Community

The Student Association is aware of a recent statement made by the Student Bar Association President about students in the Jewish community and the Jewish Law Student Association. We do not tolerate religiously insensitive and offensive actions made by any member of our community.

The Student Association and the Student Bar Association function independently of each other, however, we encourage SBA leadership to take appropriate action to remedy the situation. We understand the importance and values of both the SBA and JLSA, and we hope for a respectful and collaborative relationship moving forward.

We know that insensitive behaviors toward students of faith have occurred too often on our campus and it is disheartening to see them continue. The Student Association is committed to providing resources and supporting students to the best of our ability, particularly through the work of the Diversity and Inclusion Assembly and our Director of Interfaith Engagement.
