Statement on Racial Insensitivity

The GW Student Association is aware of a recent racially insensitive incident that occurred on campus on the eve of Black Heritage Month. Such acts are incompatible with our pursuit of an inclusive academic environment, and we strongly condemn behaviors that go against our core values of diversity and respect.

We reaffirm our commitment to cultivating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment at GW. We do not tolerate racially insensitive and offensive behavior or language in any form. In our mission to promote and support the welfare of every GW student, the SA will continue advocating on behalf of the student body by working with the University administration to ensure that all students feel safe and supported on our campus.

The Student Association urges students, faculty, and staff to work with each other to foster a more inclusive community and to ensure that diversity is respected.
