Alex Erickson is a graduate student in the International Education Program at the Graduate School of Education and Human Development. He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in History with a concentration in Secondary Education and some specialization in culturally and linguistically diverse education. He has previous experience working in an international public high school, assistant work with a non-profit, and as a basketball coach.

At George Washington, he is a research assistant in the Refugee Educational Advancement Laboratory and will be a leader in the International Education Association for the 2022/2023 academic year. His research interests are in access to education for refugees and migrants, internationalizing US schools, the role of language in international education, and issues in study abroad programs. He has intermediate proficiency in the Russian language and his regional interests are in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
