Sustainable Investment Fund

at The George Washington University

The George Washington University's Sustainable Investment Fund (SIF) was created with the purpose of exploring possibilities for the responsible and sustainable investment of GW’s endowment as well as engaging the greater GW community with more in-depth dialogue on this issue. Divestment of GW's endowment from fossil fuels and opportunities for sustainable reinvestment are closely linked.

About $2 million of GW’s endowment is invested in the Sustainable Investment Fund. To learn more about opportunities for sustainable investment at GW and about the Committee of students, faculty, and staff that are managing this fund, you can view the recording of an April 2020 SIF Webinar here and view its event details here. You can also email gwsa@gwu.edu in regards to the exploration of these topics in the context of University endowments and options for sustainable investment more broadly.
